Musikmesse 2010: Mixvibes VFX demo

While Mixvibes didn't have an actual stand at Musikmesse this year (the prices were truly astronomical), they did have a suite in a nearby hotel. And this is where I finally got to see their video rocking VFX package in action - and highly impressed I was as well.

Video solutions have often been a bit low rent for me. Normally they're operating at a fairly low resolution and sticking more to the DVS method. But VFX seems to be much more video focussed, with support for HD video in a variety of formats as well as image support including Flash. Of course, it's no slouch in the audio department either, with support for 4 decks, Mixvibes timecode and a broad range of audio formats too.

As I watched the demo, I got a really good feeling about VFX. It felt like I was watching a Pioneer SVM but for a fraction of the price. And the wealth of features available makes this quite interesting for audio and video alike. One issue I have is the lack of Mac version, but this is more down to Mixvibes' resource and priorities than lack of recognition of the platform.

I've already got one review in the can from a beta tester, but having seen it in action, I'm keen to have a play myself as well - even if it means firing up Windows in XP to do it.

i tested with both xp and win7 on my macbook and it worked quite excellently. i think you'll find the VFX Control extremely intuitive since it matches the GUI near perfectly...you will have much fun

@deco The package comes with a DVD with gigs of content and visual loops, also a 15% off deal for material from Mixmash. Some online digital pools offer video as well.

It's been running really stable for me, since it's based on the MV7 platform, they've taken the experience from it and improved upon it. I recommend it if you're going to get into video mixing, like Giz said, it's like the SVM at a fraction of the cost.

Nice job on the demo Lionel... 7 minutes straight with no interuption. that's some serious slam abilities you've developped there :-D

Seriously this is an awesome product with professional level features at a unique price tag. Worth taking a close look for club Djs who are looking at working with video material... Tiesto showed great faith in the product by choosing to use VFX Control on his kaleidoscope video tour. Mainly because VFX Control is the only solution to offer full HD display quality in so many various formats. :love:
