Serato's shiny stuff

Serato SSL Badge 7 vinyl

Serato is such an important company and brand in the scene, that anything tagged remotely "limited edition" causes a global drain on the internet as record shops are hammered hard with pre-orders. The Serato Pressings range has seen eBay prices spiral with some stupid money changing hands. But some of it just isn't available to the general public. And I was blessed enough to get some of this booty for my efforts with skratchworx.

On the subject of pressings, I'd heard of 7" Serato vinyl floating around, but had never seen any. So you can imagine my face as a pair were slid across the table for me to own. I'll never use them, if only because I cannot be arsed to dig out the 7" adaptors.

Forgive me while I exclude 85% of the skratchworx audience for a moment. Like me, many of you will have watched Blue Peter on the BBC when you were a kid. And the accolade for being a jolly good egg on the show was receiving a Blue Peter badge. Well I think I just got the DJ equivalent from Serato. Thrust into my hand at Musikmesse was a Gold "Official Serato Mate" badge - awarded for… well probably just for being in the right place at the right time, but I like to think for our sterling efforts with skratchworx. And while I have been known to sell Serato merch to fund my photography addiction, this is one item that will stay with me until I part this mortal coil. Or until I find out that Serato have been handing them out like sweets of course.

But there are other Serato limited editions doing the rounds. I saw a cabinet full of stuff I'd seen elsewhere, but hadn't seen this Blue SL3 before. I'm possibly late to the party on this one, but so far I've only seen it in German stores. Grab it while you can.

If you've got anymore I'd be happy to invest, the money goes to damn good use after all! Those A-Trak vinyls are still fresh by the way :-P

Hey Giz! I love Serato goodies! I got the official Serato "mates" badge handed to me to at NAMM '10 too. I have my pair of 7' and 10' Serato vinyl tucked away in a safe place lol. :x:
