Occupying pride of place at BPM was the Reloop stand. Although the Pioneer stand was stellar, Reloop was there in front of you as you walked in making it pretty hard to miss. And a stream of top quality scratch DJs were on hand to put Reloop's Spin!2 software and the IQ.2 mixer.
Let's very briefly talk about Spin!2 first. The reception to this product was good and bad. The bad is that it's PC only, something that you just can't do these days. I've already shown that the split between Macs and PCs is almost right down the middle in terms of usage, so this alone cuts out 42% of the potential market. But on the plus side, people really did like the MIDI controls in the audio interface. It's a great idea and means that the lump of hardware that largely sat around doing nothing can now be an integral part of your setup.
I was however seriously impressed with the IQ.2 mixer. Watching it being beaten up by some skilled DJs and performing flawlessly was amazing. Normally, 2 channel mixers get a lot of love but fail on the fader. This IQ.2 seemed to handle even the harshest of click frenzies really well. And that's not even mentioning the onboard crossfader linked effects either. Definitely one for a future review, and on the face of it one that should give the DJM-400 a run for its money, as well as offer Hip Hop DJs a few more creative options.
Reloop has received but a smattering of attention around here, but that is something that I intend to change. Their RP-6000 turntable is an OEM deck that gives the almighty Technics a run for its money. And if the performance dished out by Mistah tOE, DJ Flip and DJ Angelo in the following videos is anything to go by, turntablists may well have another quality 2 channel with effects mixer. My interest has certainly been piqued after watching the videos for sure.
I'd be interested to hear from the guys who spent time with it at BPM to gauge what they thought.

it seems a very solid mixer with nice crossfader fx's and nice layout but i just don't like the red display. should be green or white.

Can anyone who tried it post a comment on the sound quality on this mixer? I'm also curious about the soundcard (guess it's not a 24-bit/ 96-hz..) Cheers!
