Up until now, the only mixers to gain Traktor Scratch certification have been Firewire equipped models, as generally this has been the interface of choice for mixers with built-in sound cards. But it seems that Allen&Heath's USB2 sound card laden xone:4D behemoth may well be heading down that route as well.
A friend of skratchworx and devoted 4D fanboy has stumbled upon using Traktor Scratch with CDJs and timecode CDs plugged into his 4D and got it working just fine. Nothing official just yet, but I wouldn't be too surprised to see the xone:4D added to the certified list very soon.

This had actually been circulating for quite a while. One interesting fact is that I called NI a couple of months ago inquiring about the Evo 5 and they mentioned that the Xone 3D was certified or able to be used. This was from their own tech people. Anyone with a 3D and Traktor care to verify this?

4d is certified but since in both firms are full of dumb idiots they simply forgot to make a big big news bomb on both websites when traktor scratch pro was released.

As far as I'm aware (and this is directly from Allen & Heath and NI), the 4D is now certified bar filling in paperwork, but only with Traktor Scratch Pro.
As for sound cards being certified or not, certification is about mixers with built in sound cards so that you don't need to buy either the Audio8 or any other 3rd part sound card. So sound cards probably never will be certified.

Giz, correct. As long as the sound card complies with the USB Audio spec, it should work just fine with ANY app.
